Mother’s Bistro & Bar
212 Southwest Stark Street,
Stark raving delicious
We trekked back into downtown but before even reaching the tunnel Carly had already decided upon Mothers Bistro & Bar off of Stark. There was a bit of a wait but the amount of foot traffic and plates we saw going by led us to believe we were in for a major treat. The specials on the chalkboard looked highly inviting and Foursquare recommended we not miss the cornflake crusted French toast. Since Carly knew in advance of the French toast it took us all of 30 seconds after being seated to place our order, I chose the Gouda & Ham scramble I spotted on the daily specials board. Along with her French toast Carly also got a side of 3 little sausages which while delicious we’re nothing extra special. My scramble was quite amazing and also contained caramelized onions which really gave it a delicious sweetness. The potatoes were well seasoned but could have been a little thinner to stay crispier. The cornflake French toast was quite good as well but didn’t maintain it’s crisp flakiness for more than a few minutes. I’d very much look forward to a return to try whatever shows up next on the daily specials board.
As busy as it was we still received our breakfast incredibly fast but our server was super buys with many tables.
The second room we sat in is surrounded by windows so you feel like a goldfish feeding, lots of mirrors too.
The best scramble I’ve had yet.
